Pecha Kucha Night Asheville debut was a tremendous success. The turnout from both presenters and those in attendance exceed expectations and displayed an abundance of humor, artistic talent, erudite perspective, poetic sensibility, & general support for our design community.

The general consensus was that the event was a very powerful moment in the Asheville Design Center's effort to be a host and resource for our community. Special thanks go out to Chris Joyelle & Joe Minicozzi who were instrumental stalwarts in the effort to bring Pecha Kucha into the Design Center's downtown location.
Many people also expressed regret for not hearing about the event early enough to contribute a presentation or hearing about the event too late to attend. Therefore, this should reinforce the need to spread the word about PKN's presence here in Asheville as far as we can, to encourage people to visit the website, and to sign up for the newsletter for announcements about our next events.
The next PKN Asheville will be held within the next few months. Presentations can be submitted or prepared at any time, for any event. The general chatter about the next event was that it could either be before the Thanksgiving Holidays or after the New Year. Yes, this is a pretty vague timeline, but we are awaiting responses from interested parties and potential venue openings. Any suggestions about a preferred date are welcomed. Participation in the planning and organization of the next event would also be welcomed.
