For those of you who had been at Vol.14 last week this message does not come as a surprise, but I just want to send out an official huge thank you to everyone who made PechaKucha Barcelona what it is today.
It has been an incredible adventure to set up and run PKN in the Catalan Capital with the support of my friends, the over 170 presenters, fans, and our audience. I had a lot of fun, met amazing people and seen curious things in the 3 years of PKN BCN. Mark, Astrid, Jean and everyone else at PK headquarters were incredible to work with, as were Sergio Carratalá, Ernest Vidal, Benjamin Julve, Ricardo Ferraz, Aurora Portillo, Aniol Esquerra, Nayely González and Marjolein Hendrix in Barcelona. Together we did over 14 nights since July 2008 when it all started here. Also on board since the beginning was our local beer, Estrella Damm, whose Antigua Fábrica has somewhat become the house of PechaKucha in Barcelona.
They say that all good things must end (I am hoping to present my new project to you in a PKN next year) and so I decided to pass on PKN BCN to the hyperactive Marc Morro, known as the guy behind Surtido and the Gallery Otras Cosas. I am very happy to leave it in Marc's hands and am looking forward to the events next year.
Fins aviat,
Petz Scholtus
