Inbetween Vol.2 and 3

← All Barcelona newsletters 2008-10-21 10:40:12
Pecha Kucha Vol.2 last month at the Maremagnum was another great night full of inspiring inventions, ideas and people.
Marta Aymerich presented trends and fusions inspired by Asia, Nadine & Bart from HUNK-design (who are also the Pecha Kucha organisers in Rotterdam and Amsterdam) explained their project with a Flying Grass Carpet and Maxime Renaudine, the digital tree planter charmed everyone into joining Tree-Nation. Gavin Dudeney, the E-Consultant, had the Idiot’s Guide to Web 2.0 prepared for us and Pep Torres, inventor and creative, couldn’t get us to stop laughing with pleasure when he explained his ingenious inventions.
During the break, free beer, comfortable poufs and the charming port-overlooking terrace was the perfect mix to meet other creatives and to get motivated to maybe present at the next Pecha Kucha. After that, designer Ernest Perera shared his latest creations, not without another good dosis of humour. Saint, producer and troublemaker was next, presenting Arguments for Pessimism and Optimism (which you can see on YouTube), followed by gastronome Cristian Ortega who presented his Manifesto Culinartista. Eco.activist Jeremie Fosse presented his plan 2.0 for how to change the world, and last but not least, the designer brothers Brosmind said ‘Hello’, telling us the story behind some of their amazing illustrations.
There are still a few weeks to go until Pecha Kucha Vol.3 but we have to inform you that PK Vol.3 cannot be held at Casa Décor as planned. The reason for this is that the space they planned of giving us was far below our (humble) standards. A bad smelling room, pretty run down and with no electricity or lights, was not what we had in mind when Casa Decor offered us to sponsor the venue for Pecha Kucha Vol.3.
We are therefore currently looking into relocating Pecha Kucha, without hopefully having to change the date (Nov 14th), and are confident to let you know the new venue soon. We hope this doesn’t affect you coming to our next event and we apologise for any inconvenience this might cause. For updates on the venue and speakers, check out the Global web site pecha-kucha.org as well as our brand new site pechakuchabarcelona.org, designed by :Puntoos who you will meet at PK Vol.3.
See you soon,
Pecha Kucha Barcelona team.
