Next PKN Is This Monday!
Friends,
it's time for another Pecha Kucha Night! Yes, it has been two months since the last PKN and we've been busy. Not only is our line-up of presenters fantastic, but our new space is perfect. We needed a much larger space, but when we found MUA Restaurant and Bar in Oakland, we found much, much more. If you don't know MUA R&B, you'll be delighted when you see it. The large industrial warehouse was turned into a stylish yet comfortable restaurant and fun art space by local architect Hi-Suk Dong and his wife Sanju. And, if you arrive before 6:30 you can take advantage their great happy hour menu.
Presenters (not necessarily in order of presentation):
Peter Ajemian
Carol Ladewig
Greg Dismond
Myrna Tatar—"Recent Works"
Kalim Winata
David Chen—"Adventuring: Try Something Different"
Matt Faulker—"The Work of Illustrator and Author Matt Faulkner"
Nate Pagel—"One Idea Blooms: Artistic Process"
Ahrash Bissell—"Lizards Doing Push-ups"
David Chang—"When TSHTF - A Doctor's View of Haiti"
And Jonathan may present his ongoing study of Facebook,"My Imaginary Facebook Friend, Sara Chang"
Time and Location
Monday, April 5 from 7—9:30ish
MUA Restaurant and Bar
2442 Webster, at 25th and Broadway in Oakland
About PKN
If you're unfamiliar with PKN, it's a public salon originally started by architects in Tokyo to provide a platform for young designers to present their works. We've expanded it to encompass interesting people doing interesting things. PKN is free, relaxed, and really, really fun. In Berkeley / Oakland, we hold PKN every other month. We hope you can make it this Monday, April 5th at 7 pm.
