The Ellen Theatre will host Bozeman’s second Pecha Kucha Night Wednesday, January 25. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the first presentation starting at 7:20 p.m. Pecha Kucha (peh-chak-cha) offers anyone with a passion or a vision--designers, artists, inventors, architects, adventurers, entrepreneurs—an opportunity to share their ideas with the community during a fast-paced, friendly social hour. There's just one catch--you only have 20 slides x 20 seconds each, a total of 6 minutes, 40 seconds!

Kent Davis, teacher, performer and comedian, will serve as MC.

Presenters for the Jan. 25 event (with presentation titles) include: Michael Newhouse (Read It and Weep: Adventures in Bad Typography); Chris Dorsi (Human Habitat: The Evolution of Efficiency); Chrysti Smith (Nike’s Echo: The Gods Among Us); Cindy Christin (Playing with Blocks); David Fortin and Michael Spencer (Bales, Taters and Farm-atecture); and Dede Taylor (The Town that Jell-o Built).

Additional presenters include: Melissa Dulin (Community, Spirit, Respect—The Experience of Taiko Drumming); Bobbi Geise (The Extinction of Play); Scott Bosse (Death, Sex and Resurrection: The Unbelievable True Story of How Wyoming Got Wild and Scenic); Ole Nelson (Extrusion of the Sketch); Jonquil Nelson (Use It or Lose It: Reconnecting Seniors to Their Gardening Roots); and Greg Young (Collaborate, Create and Celebrate).

Pecha Kucha (sounds like chit-chat in Japanese) was created by a Tokyo architectural firm in 2003 and has grown to about 450 cities around the world. Pecha Kucha Bozeman’s first event was at the Story Mansion in October. More information is available on Facebook at pecha-kucha-bozeman or by emailing pechakuchabozeman@gmail.com You are encouraged to come early to socialize. There will be a 20-minute intermission.
