The Champaign-Urbana Design Organization (CUDO) will be hosting the third Volume of PechaKucha Night at the Canopy Club in Urbana this Friday, April 16, as part of the 2010 Boneyard Arts Festival.
Two special treats: Project Runway Season 7 alum and former Urbana resident, will be among the presenters. Wu’s presentation will follow her creative journey from selling handmade cards at the Urbana Farmer’s Market to her appearance on Project Runway to life after the show. And, since we are PKN Chicago's biggest fans, PechaKucha Night Chicago Co-organizer and superstar, Thorsten Bosch will be heading south from Chicago to Champaign-Urbana to join the party and to present!
Champaign-Urbana’s third PechaKucha Night will feature 12 presentations:
Chris Berti, Associate Professor of Art & Design at Parkland College; Andy Borbely, manager of Seven Saints and whiskey expert extraordinaire; The Bike Project, a bicycle co-op and advocate group; Kevin Coulton, presenting on Pixel Art; Glen C. Davies, muralist and the 2010 Boneyard Arts Festival featured artist; Thorsten Bösch, PechaKucha Night Chicago Co-organizer; Fishing with Dynamite, sketch comedy troupe; Matt Gornick, entrepreneur and Co-founder of OrangeQC; Stewart Hicks, architect; Paul Kotheimer, folk musician and activist; Daniel Schreiber, aspiring chocolate maker; and Ping Wu, designer.
Andy Warfel will join us once again as our fabulous emcee for the night.
Doors will open at 7 pm with music by DJ Mertz. Presentations will begin at 8:20 pm. The after party, featuring comedy troupe Fishing with Dynamite, will begin at 11 pm.
Tickets to the event are on sale at the door for $7, or $5 if purchased in advance. Details at
