(Sorry for the short notice -- hopefully, you've heard our call for submissions via other channels)
After the great response to Pecha Kucha Night Volumes 1 and 2, now we are inviting entries for PK Volume 3.
This is your opportunity…
- to air your work/ideas, share your observations, express your opinions
- to challenge yourself to be concise and creative in getting your message across
- to present to a broad city-wide audience, in a casual supportive social environment
- place yourself among the best creative talent in town
As before, it will be a 20x20 format: you can show 20 electronic slides, and will get 20 seconds per image - a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. There aren’t too many other rules/restrictions.
The submission deadline for the presentations is 15 March, 2009.
By then you will need to submit:
1) 20 images in the sequence you want them in, as a zipped Powerpoint (.ppt) file.
2) The title and a 100 word (max) description of your presentation.
3) A short (3-4 sentence) bio/personal info/something about yourself (– this is only to help the Emcee introduce you at the event, and won’t be a consideration while selecting the presentations).
For more info, guidelines, links to sample shows, presentation tips etc., please check out:

Please note: Even though we would like to accommodate everyone who wants to present, we will have to limit the total number for Vol. 3 to 12 presentations.
A panel will be selecting the final list of presenters. The selection will be based on the quality of the entries and the originality of the theme/ideas submitted. We would also be trying to ensure that the widest range/variety of media and people are represented on each PK Night.
The Panel for Vol. 3 consists of:
Faron Franks, Architect, Charlotte
Carrie Gault, Architect, Faculty at UNC Charlotte
Mitchell Kearney, Photographer, Charlotte
Tamara LaValla, Artist, Rock Hill
Barbara Schreiber, Artist, Charlotte.
