PechaKucha Night Chicago Volume 10 for one night only at Hyde Park Art Center  (5020 S. Cornell Avenue, Chicago) on Tuesday July

On Tuesday July 21 PechaKucha Night heads down to the Hyde Park Art Center. Chit chat starts at 8pm, but we'll be there for beer before that. Chicago’s Volume 10 features 6 minutes and 40 seconds seconds each of Art Center director Chuck Thurow, poet and HBO regular Kevin Coval, from the trenches of Chicago politics Alex Armour, über blogger Rob Keenan, young architects Darya Minosyants and Ryan Johnson, film maker Karen Carter Lynch with Jackie Kazarian, along with artists Emmy Brown, Christa Donner, and Andy Hall (alumni of PechaKucha Night Chicago Volume 2, stepping up to the microphone again). We're still trying to track down our 10th presenter! Kate Lorenz of PechaKucha Night Volume 7 fame, and regular emcee Peter Exley will introduce the evening. Presenters will utilize the Garofalo Architects (PechaKucha Volume 1) designed giant projection screens, indoors and out, among the exhibit Apocalypse and Rapture, curated by photographer Doug Fogelson (PechaKucha Volume 4). You don't need a ticket - it's free (yippee!) and you can bring the family - it's all ages. Knowing the PK crowd, getting there early and staking out your spot might be a good suggestion.
PechaKucha Night Chicago is also a proud supporter of architreasures whose "Jewels In July" event is this Wednesday, July 15, downtown at 55 E. Ohio (Room and Board). Always an excellent party, this year features a silent auction, citrini cocktails, and globally inspired cuisine. architreasures is a Chicago gem, a non-profit, arts-based community development organization that improves the urban landscape. More info about them, and Jewels In July at www.architreasures.org, and when we get them up on stage at an upcoming PechaKucha Night.
