Hello Copenhagen - Tokyo calling...
The newsletter you subscribed to some time back has sprung into life...
...and the PechaKucha Night mothership just wanted say congratulations on reaching your 10th Volume in Copenhagen TONIGHT!
It is AMAZING when you think about - Thanks to all the organisers, presenters and guests for supporting your local PechaKucha Night making your community a real community.
JAN & FEB
There were 30 PechaKucha Night events around the world in January not bad considering everyone was just getting over their hangovers and getting back to work. Last month, February, there were an amazing 40 events and this month we are already at 46. This is well over double the rate of last year - maybe PechaKucha Night is the only thing in the world that is recession proof. PechaKucha Night even made an appearance at the World Economic Forum this year in their IdeaLab, as the presentation format for Young Global Leaders and Tech Pioneers.
PECHAKUCHA DAILY
PechaKucha Daily, is now well and truly daily. If you haven't checked it out yet it is our daily blog of what is happening in the world of PechaKucha with event reviews, articles on presenters, press and other good stuff. Jean Snow is the main editor for the site and has been a PechaKucha supporter since we started. Jean writes for many magazines and blogs around the world. He lives and breathes design, pop culture, and gaming in Tokyo sustained by an unhealthy addiction to magazines, cafes and PechaKucha Night. He wrote a great article for TIME Magazine about PechaKucha Night but you can also find his articles in Gizmodo, Gridskipper, Kotaku, Superfuture, OK Fred, Metropolis, Azure, Wired, PingMag, and The Japan Times.

PECHAKUCHA TWITTER
Yes, we are at it too - twittering away, giving event alerts and a few other juicy tidbits. We are keeping it down to only a couple of tweets daily so we are very safe to follow! Thanks to you twittering about PechaKucha we are getting an amazing realtime view of how each event is building, whether it's full, how good the speakers are - we can even bask in the event afterglow with you all too.
This was an awesome tweet the other day: RT @ematamoros: If you're not already at Austin pechakucha, don't bother. Lines worse than Disneyland. about 1 hour ago from twhirl

THANK YOU AUTODESK
As you know, PechaKucha Night is for content and not for profit - we do not charge for license agreements with each city. No money changes hands. As the network has grown virally, it has put an increasing strain on our architectural practice with increasing staff and web costs. Just as we were about to reach breaking point our great friends at Autodesk have come on board as our first global sponsor. Their support helps cover our backend costs and along with Klein Dytham architecture keeps PechaKucha Night free.
Thank you Autodesk!! Please pop over to their website as they sponsor other great events like TED and the Venice Biennale.
