What is a Pecha Kucha Night?
‘Pecha Kucha’ a Japanese term which roughly translates as ‘chit-chat’ is an event in which presenters show a slideshow of 20 images, each of which is shown for 20 seconds – giving a total presentation time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. The audience experiences an exhilarating range of speakers and images over the course of the evening, and there’s also music, drinking and the inevitable exchange of ideas that occurs during Pecha Kucha Nights.
The event originally devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein-Dytham Architecture (KDA) in Tokyo, Japan has been replicated worldwide in more than 200 cities including London, San Francisco, Seattle, Berlin, Shanghai, & Hamilton.
