The Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design was formed in 2005 as a sister organization to the Hong Kong Design Centre. Believing that societies grow and are enlivened through culture and the creative experience, the Ambassadors came together to promote design, creativity and local culture through dynamic, experiential, and / or educational events or projects in Hong Kong. Past events and projects by the Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design include Cut-and-Paste, held at the Innocentre in November of 2007, 50x50, a design guide to Hong Kong by Hong Kong’s creative leaders, and Detour, the “on-the-ground” companion to Business of Design Week. Notable executive committee members of the Ambassadors include Daryl Ng, Alan Lo, Alice Chan, Bonnie Chan, Calvin Tien, Carl Gouw, Dee Poon, Douglas Young, Irene Li, Paulo Pong, Teddy Lo, Vicky Lam and Victoria Law.
