Hi all!
Thank you for coming through for Haiti at Pecha Kucha on Saturday.
We had a great turn-out, considering the short notice. Thank you so much to all who attended for the donations, we appreciate your generosity. The money is still being counted, but we will keep you posted on the final figures.
We were all super impressed with the speakers Ilan, Candice, Ilse, Phillip and Zwai, Elonah and Brett, each one of you educated, entertained and engaged us with what you had to share.
We really appreciate the press coming to the event; the exposure is greatly appreciated by both Architecture for Humanity and Pecha Kucha.
At 8:24pm we had a live hook up with Mark Dytham all the way in Tokyo and we were viewed in 168 countries. We also had a brief interview about our viral videos.
We want to give special recognition to the following people and companies who really came through big on this one. They offered all of their services PRO BONO:
• Atlas Studios – Rachel, Maxwell, Sizwe and the team - this is a BIG thank you as they provided the following: the venue, hiring (including chairs, cocktail tables, bar stools, AV screens and a speaker podium) and their event co-ordinators.
• DJ Offbeat – Damian Armstrong - he provided us with wicked beats.
• Get Phat Studios - Steve – he was our AV and sound technician – also a big thanks to him as he came through for a sound check on Friday and set-up the event on Saturday.
• Tidal Waves – the band who entertained us all night.
• Music Connection – they provided us with sound equipment.
• Lodge Security – they were the security outfit for the venue and provided us with hand held scanners PRO BONO
• Mike Turner – he was the photographer.
• Susan Dexter – she organised to have the event video recorded.
• Southern Pulse – Marcelle and Jessica - they did the booking and organising of the band Tidal Waves.
• Network – Chris & Stephan - they provided us with AV equipment including projectors, cables etc
• Studio 4332 – The entire studio, but especially Toni, Mary, Angela and Malcolm.
If you would like to contribute to the Pecha Kucha for Haiti Fund, you can donate online. All proceeds go directly to Architecture for Humanity.
