The PKN-Mumbai Show #2

← All Mumbai newsletters 2009-07-27 01:23:01
All set to run an interesting list of presenters tomorrow at the PechaKucha Night Mumbai Volume 2, we invite you to join us, as speakers from the world of art and design will share their work and ideas, precisely in the 20X20 format, precisely 400 secs!
We thank the media coverage that this event has received again this time. The Times of India today (Monday 27 July, 2009; pg 8), and the Mumbai Mirror on Saturday 25 July, 2009 (pg 40) carried informative and good stories on the event.
After a great success at our launch event on 12 December, 2008 at Jnanapravaha (Mumbai) we are looking forward to another great and high energy night!
We thank all our presenters at Volume 1, our audiences and all the media support we got then too, from Time Out (Mumbai) for its pre-event coverage and even announcing it as one of the two 'Events of the Fortnight', and Mumbai Mirror (Online Edition) and Financial Chronicle for giving it a very good post event coverage!
The presenters at PKN Mumbai Volume 2 are…
Huzefa Rangwala, Architect
Y. D. Pitkar and Pranav Upasani, Architects
Shirley Abraham, Documentary Film-maker and Researcher
Baarish Date, Designer
Anupam Sah, Art Conservationist
Kayzad Shroff & Maria Jimenez Leon, Architects
Quaid Doongerwala, DCoop Architects
Meenakshi Shedde, Film Critic and Consultant
Shilpa Gore-Shah and Pinkish Shah, S+PS Architects
Devdutt Pattanaik, Mytholgist
Kaiwan Mehta (Architect and Urban Researcher, & also the PKN Mumbai City Organiser) will present a follow-up of his presentation at PKN Budapest in June 2008, which was in every way the starting point for the journey of PKN Mumbai. Very much a ritual presentation!
Pecha Kucha which refers to the sound of chit-chat in Japanese, invites you to come and talk about your ideas and work, or simply tell a tale! It is an opportunity for creative minds to meet, and share their practices or experiences, and enjoy enriched moments of creative exchange; if nothing else, to just come and enjoy the experience!
"A high energy showcase..." where every presenter shows 20 slides, each running for 20 seconds. A series of quick conversations, a series of images from the world of architecture, design, art, cinema, photography, city studies and many more!
An idea that started with the Tokyo based practice of Klein Dytham architects in 2003 has now become the world's most popular design event. http://pecha-kucha.org/
