PKN:OC #2: Back on 02.23.10

Hallo!! Hallo!!

PKN-OC #2 is less than two weeks away!! That's right folks, on 02.23.10 we'll be back with a fresh, flavorful line-up of creative thinkers and inspiring doers. That's just how we roll.

This time around, we'll be at the ultra-snazzy HEAT ultra lounge on the edge of the Magic Kingdom (that's Harbor Blvd. right off the 5). And if you don't believe me, would you believe I just used the word ultra twice in the same sentence??

But seriously, all the info is right here on our lovely corner of the pkn global website. So check the info, get down to HEAT and let's have a good time on a Tuesday night, dammit!!

But while you're here, let me tell you a little bit about some of our presenters.

There is the dynamically talented MS. RACHEL HEUSSENNSTAMM. Rachel is a freelance art director and designer. Her spectrum of work ranges from album cover design for cutting-edge indie rock bands to art direction for innovative educational websites. But on 02.23, rather she will be speaking about her true passion, PROJECTTRANSIT -- an artistic experiment focused on improving the public image of mass transportation. People, we all know OC needs a monorail, subway and buses that float like those cars from the Jetsons. So come on out and learn more.

Then there is MR. DEREK SABORI. Derek is a genuine writer. So rather than me hack something together, I'll just have him tell you what he'll talk about in his own words --

As you may or may not know, we’ve been invaded...and it’s not pretty. Have a look around and you’ll see what I’m talking about. You can’t miss them - the UnGreens - They’re the Litter Bugs, the Water Hogs, the Oil Slicks, the Energy Spikes and the O-Zoners. There are a few that have yet yo be named, I’m sure, but for now this is what we’ve been able to identify.

Luckily for us, there is hope. Lu and the Earth Bug Crew, aka the Earth Bugs have decided to call Earth home and they are determined to NOT let the UnGreens get the best of this planet!

Living in Orange County really makes me feel as if this battle exists and the ironic thing is - I’ve been an UnGreen, I KNOW UnGreens! But don’t we all? As an Eco-Action Adventure author living in the OC, I’ll be discussing my process, my game plan and the fact, that no, I did not go to school to in Boulder or Berkley.

In addition to these two talented folks, we have 6 other gifted presenters --

* Chris Prelitz: Sustainable Design Consultant, New Leaf America
* David Winter: CEO Luxury Marketing Council Southern California
* John Linnert: Architect, John Linnert Architecture
* Nicole Longstreath: Creative Director, A View From the Edge
* Tom Wagner: VP, Consumer Insights, Taco Bell
* Vinh Ha: Founder, Big Development

I hope to share more with you about these good people as we get closer to the big night.

Oh, and did I mention the big night? 02.23.10, HEAT Ultra Lounge, doors open at 19:00 sharp.

See you there!
