Some juicy tidbits here:

1) Thanks for a gorgeous 11th PK night on Wednesday! However, we only contributed $1 to Haiti. Embarrassing. Please donate via the PK website, and I'll also send a link to our video once it's up: http://www.pecha-kucha.org/pechakucha-for-haiti

2) The theme of our next event is Connecting Creative Communities, dedicated to the summit with the same name that will be sandwiching Pecha Kucha in Providence from March 9-11. If you're down to ignite New England's creative potential, check it out right here: http://www.nefa.org/events/connecting_new_englands_creative_communities

3) Participate in the process of 'hiring' our next Mayor at Uncaucus.org! Via Melissa Withers, who was our first presenter of the night, additional details below: http://uncaucus.org/

4) Come celebrate our 12th night and ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY next month on March 10th! And wear your dancing shoes, because after the presentations, we're having a dance party with DJ duo Micah Jackson: http://www.pecha-kucha.org/night/providence/12

Love!

Uncaucus.org via Melissa Withers
A group of Providence citizens, many familiar to the Pecha Kecha community, seek to expand the search for Providence’s next Mayor and enlist more citizens in the “hiring” process. The Uncaucus has posted a job description seeking a Mayor. The Uncausus has posted this job description locally and in multiple cities across the country to challenge assumptions about what it means to be Mayor, get more citizens involved in the hiring process and encourage new candidates to step forward. Over the next few months, the Uncaucus hopes to solicit applications for Mayor, share those applications with the citizens of Providence, and create a channel where we can collectively discuss the issues that matter most to our City and increase the chances that we’ll hire the right person for the job. Sign up here: http://uncaucus.org/en/index.html and the Uncaucus will send updates on Uncaucus gatherings and share outcomes from their search for applicants.
