Good People, good food, good fun!
Everyone seems to agree it was a great evening! With 9 individual presenters who varied in content and style, great food, and a wonderful space, the evening had a little something for everyone.
Christened with, "Helllllll -o Redding! and thanking of course, everyone, the real fun began when Sally Marbry presented her delightful, "What a Tweet" Power Point of birds. Lighthearted and embellished with Sally's sassy humor, it was the perfect fit to kick off a rockin' evening of artists, photographers, horse enthusiasts, and a striking analysis of feminism. There really was something for everyone - even the little one's on the second level of the Atrium quietly watched presentations.
Power Points rolled out evenly and presenters did a great job narrating their work and passions and it all happened without technical glitches - except maybe the reluctance to get up close and personal with the microphone.
The evening blossomed with lots of "ews" and "ahs" during Brian Rueb's and Armondo's Mejorado's presentations for the breathtaking art they shared. And Nikolas Allen performing with his partner, Brenda, provided an engaging performance about marketing that introduced a variation in presentation style. Brenda, using single Japanese words apparently signaled Nikolas, who faced the audience that the slide was changing. Wow! Creative and practical!
Every presenter said "yes" to this new adventure and their courageous spirit and talent is a testament to the success of the evening and the strengths of Upper Californian's.
It was "real people, in a real room” sharing and enjoying the best to offer from Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
If you would like to join the fun for next time, we are now accepting submissions. If you weren't able to be with us, please join us next time.
