October 7th Lots of Fun and Great Presentations
Friday Night Presentations were world class and oh, so much fun! With up to 80 community members visiting - there just weren't enough seats for everyone - and still we all seemed to have a great time! Where were those darn folding chairs? Well, no one seemed to know, but you know it all worked out because every one of the slide presentations was just about over the top. Now that's an easy thing to say when you're talking about Burning Man; so much artistry and edgeyness. But Cake Artistry in the form of a toilet or giant gum ball machine and dogs catching air in the neighborhood of about 15 ft., or a family dedicated to radio, or Haiku poetry...well, it was quite a line-up. It really makes you stop and wonder at the amazing people who live in our community.
Of course no event is complete until you have at least a couple of things go awry. And our event was no exception, but in spite of our glitches it all went pretty well with everyone pulling together and then kicking back to enjoy the presenters from our community.
It goes without saying that we want to thank our presenters for their outstanding contribution to the event. You are appreciated!
That said, we're considering some growth and maybe some changes for PKN Redding, so stay tuned. We'd also like to ask anyone and everyone for nominations of someone they think would be great for Pecha Kucha Night, February 17th, 2012. Just send us their first name and YOUR contact info. so we can follow-up. We do need help in soliciting presenters. So, if you can, "pitch in".
