It is said that hindsight is 20/20; what value do we place on foresight? Addressing climate change is no small task. The need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions requires participation from all sectors of our global economy. Inspired by the 2030 Challenge, the design community is hard at work, with architects, engineers and designers of the built environment providing the critical leadership. Co-Sponsored by Seattle Emerging Green Builders (representing the Cascadia chapter of the US Green Building Council), Pecha Kucha Night Seattle vol. 19 - Living Future 20/20* has assembled a roster of incredible leaders from across the environmental design spectrum. Raise a glass, see great work, get inspired and create community - we'd love to see you there!

ABOUT CASCADIA REGION GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL:

http://cascadiagbc.org
http://cascadiagbc.org/living-future/10

Cascadia's mission is to promote the design, construction and operation of buildings in the northwest that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live, work and learn. The Cascadia Region Green Building Council is one of three original chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council and, as a chapter of the Canada Green Building Council as well, is the only international chapter in North America. Incorporated in Oregon in December 1999, the chapter covers Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alaska, but also includes members from as far away as Idaho and Montana. Cascadia continues to serve its members by helping the U.S. and Canada Green Building Councils meet their goals in the Pacific Northwest. We strive to become a leading force in green building by forging alliances with organizations that have a stake in the future of this region.

ABOUT PECHA KUCHA:
http://www.pecha-kucha.org

Pecha Kucha (the Japanese for the sound of conversation) gathers creative individuals to share their work and ideas in an informal environment. Pecha Kucha Night was conceived in 2003 by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham (from Klein Dytham architecture, in Tokyo), as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each - giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to showcase their ideas, visions, work/areas of curiosity.
